North Collier
Regional Park

The North Collier Regional Park project involved the development of a 212-acre site into Collier County’s most prominent park. Included was the civil design of 8 soccer/football fields, 5 baseball/softball fields, gymnasium, administrative offices, roads and parking facilities. The interpretative boardwalk system, passive recreation areas, 4-mile jogging/health course, and a major water park are all designed in a way to complement each other. The permitting process was intensive in that the entire development was claimed by the agencies as it was comprised of 95% wetlands. ABB was subsequently selected as the prime consultant to design the conversion of four (4) of the natural grass soccer fields to artificial turf fields. ABB provided project management and base data services, and sub-consultant FTEsports designed the fields, working with the turf system selected by the County in a previous RFI to standardize artificial turf in County projects. ABB also provided construction administration. Once the fields were constructed, they went through a process to receive FIFA Certification.
