Montura Ranch

The Montura Ranch Estates land use study was conducted over approximately two years beginning in November 2019 through the Fall of 2021. Margaret Emblidge, AICP managed this study and its results while working in the position of the Planning and Community Development Director for Hendry County. This study resulted in a Montura Ranch Estates Future Land Use Category, a Future Land Use Map designation and a revised Zoning District. Montura Ranch Estates covers approximately 8,500 acres in east Hendry County primarily fronting along C.R. 833 and 6 miles south of S.R. 80. An extensive community outreach program was conducted including eight (8) community meetings that established the community’s vision and guided the creation of the adopted regulations. The priority of the community was to maintain the existing rural character while allowing new development that supports the community and promotes economic development.
