The Mercato is a 53-acre mixed use development consisting of 495,000 sq. ft. of retail and office space, and 92 condominium and 50 single-family homes. Our initial planning involved creation of design standards that would be unique to a residential community within an upscale shopping and dining center. Design work included site planning, water and sewer utilities, fire protection, stormwater management and local, state and federal permitting. Stormwater design involved on-site lakes and 7 acres of preserve. The Mercato design implemented shared stormwater systems with U.S. 41, Pelican Marsh and the adjacent commercial properties.
